Class of 2020: well done to year 11

Congratulations to our year 11 students who have achieved fantastic results this year. We are tremendously proud of the way in which they have responded to the crisis which led to the cancellation of examinations in the summer. Students had been working extremely hard to prepare for summer exams and this perseverance combined with brilliant support from our excellent subject specialists is reflected in the stellar results which we have enjoyed celebrating today. We would like to thank families for their support during this unprecedented time and look forward to welcoming students back into the 6th form in September.

Today, we have enjoyed celebrating achievements with individual students. Once again we are delighted with the proportion of top 9-7 grades: 43% (PHS 41% in 2019. National 2020 27%) with over a quarter at grades 9-8. We are very pleased that 80% of grades were at strong pass grade 5+ (PHS 75% 2019) with our overall headlines looking very similar to last year which demonstrates the rigour and reliability of our centre assessment process. 77% (PHS 76% 2019) of students achieved a standard pass (grade 4) in both English and Maths and 58% (PHS 57% 2019) achieved a strong pass in both. Top grades in English and maths reflect our high expectations of learning and achievement in these core subjects with 44% of grades in English at 9-7 and 32% at 9-7 in maths.
