Change, loss and bereavement

Managing Change

One thing can be assured in life, and that is that change is inevitable. Whether it is moving house or moving to a new school, change can feel overwhelming.

But remember these feelings are completely normal. It is important to be patient, it takes time to adapt. Believe in yourself and if you need to, talk to someone you trust. Asking for help is a sign of strength, not a sign of weakness.

When Someone Dies

When someone dies, there's no right or wrong way to feel. Everyone experiences loss or bereavement differently. But you don't have to cope on your own.

4 things to remember when you experience a loss:

  • Talk to someone who'll listen to how you feel – it can really help.
  • However you are feeling is okay, cry if you feel like it.
  • Look after yourself – remember to eat well and get plenty of rest.
  • Things can get easier over time
