Specialist Leaders in Education
What is an SLE?
Specialist Leaders of Education (SLE) are teachers currently working in schools who have a proven track record in leadership and management and expertise in a specific area. SLEs are available to support leaders across the country in developing exemplary practice in their own schools. This means that support is tailored to each individual school’s needs and is designed in consultation with the Headteacher, Senior Leaders and/or post holders in the subject or area targeted.
The focus is on developing leadership capacity; the role is about developing other leaders so that they have the skills and knowledge required to lead their own teams and improve practice.
This may be done through one-to-one or group support and could involve a variety of activities, such as:
• data analysis
• facilitating and training
• joint action planning
What is the cost?
The usual cost is £350 per day, although consideration would be given for longer projects.
How do I contact an SLE?
