Last year one of our Maths teachers, Ms Karimi, won a Jack Petchey leadership award.

She received many nominations; students pointed out that she “made every lesson enjoyable and engaging” and “always has time to help each individual and makes sure nobody feels silly for not understanding.”

This award was accompanied by a grant to be spent on a school project. Ms Karimi chose for this money to be spent on new calculators for Year Seven students. Whilst there was not enough funding for every student to receive a new calculator, some lucky students now have one to use in class and for their homework.

Well done, Ms Karimi!
